List of municipalities in Prince Edward Island

Prince Edward Island is the least populous province in Canada with 140,204 residents as of 2011 and is the smallest in land area at . Prince Edward Islands's 73 municipalities are home to of its population. These municipalities provide local government services to their residents. The remaining unincorporated areas have no local government.
Municipalities may be incorporated as either a city, town or community under Prince Edward Island's Municipalities Act of 1983 by a petition signed by at least 25 residents. There are 2 cities, 10 towns and 61 communities in Prince Edward Island;〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=Municipal Affairs and Provincial Planning )〕 distributed across three counties: Kings, Prince and Queens. Approximately of residents live in the provincial capital of Charlottetown and another live within the Charlottetown census agglomeration.〔
